No Custom colwidth when using modules in menu

Dear all,

when using modules in mega menu it seems that using custom column width entries doesn't work.
Here's what I did: In order to manage which menu entries appear in which menu column (in a drop down menu) I set a new menu module in joomla including the desired menu items (i.e. row1, row2, row3). Then I switched the submenu content to "modules" and included the menu modules for each menu column. But now setting "Submenu Column Width" to i.e. colwidth1=500, colwidth2=200, colwidth3=300 doesn't affect the display of the menu. The Submenu Alignment is set to "Full-width", Submenu Width and Submenu Column Width is blank. Could you please assist?
