You can reduce the space between each item by change the padding value:

I have changed the padding value to 0. Now you don't see the space between each item.

Sorry, we don't understand each other. I mean the large gaps in the detailed view between images in portrait and landscape format. Please restore the padding distances as they were in the overview.
