Jux layer slideshow

Hi guys

I've followed the instructions provided but there are no slides displaying in my slideshow. The loading icon displays briefly and the module space is blank.

With error reporting set to maximum, the error showing on the frontend is

Strict Standards: Only variables should be assigned by reference in
mysite/modules/mod_jux_layerslideshow/mod_jux_layerslideshow.php on line 18

you have to enter in Components> Jux slideshow layer. then select the image effects.
