Installng URL redirecting

Hello,

I installed the news theme using the quick install and I have had to reinstall it over and over.

Firstly, I was able to remove everything that was useless and fill it with my content, and then I touched something and the layout went into disarray.

Secondly after reinstalling, for no reason, the Latest News column on position-7 started appearing in position-6 after the featured article.

Thirdly, I have issues with the url. It does not give a straight forward url rewriting. I would expect "site.com/cat/subcat/topic-title" but it gives me some numbers with in front of the title and puts it in some funny path.

The second and third are my problem. I would say the third, because I just reinstalled it after I could not figure out the second problem.

Please advice me on how to make the url more meaningful.
